AI Love
There is a trend out there: entrepreneurs are trying to get into the AI dating game. There are lots of app ideas, each promising to be different. But investors are not buying into it. I have talked to several investors recently about AI dating apps, they say they have seen enough PDF pitches of the concept, and they don’t think any new startup is going to be able to compete with well-funded developer staff of dating giants like Tinder, etc.
Other than what the investors say, I have also asked myself some questions:
- Why would a dating app need an AI component? I mean, the algorithm should be very easy to please. And if you sense that it isn’t, it is because the app has an incentive to keep you scrolling on the app. I would note that, overall, dating apps are doing a great job.
- If the AI is going to be used as a kind of private texter, aka “AI flirting,” then why not just date a psychical Kim Kardashian look-alike robot or something? These will be in stores someday in the next 10 years or so.
It will be fascinating to see how AI will be incorporated into this very personal field of relationships.

The Great Gatsby
The USA elections are near, which gives me the appetite to consume some well-written American literature. I don’t know many writers who could write prose like Fitzgerald. Boy, his lyrics dance like a ballerina and make love to your soul. “The Great Gatsby” is a masterpiece and is as relevant now as it was then.
I think more people should consume prose; I mean, you don’t have to read the news all day long; give yourself 10 minutes a day to dance to a fine-tuned string of words that remind you that your heart is as valuable as your rational, calculating machine above your neck.
